Children and young people at RBC

Children and young people

Tuesdays after school from 3:30pm-5:00pm there is Youth Club – a space for young people aged 11-18 to relax, chat, and play games. With a series of video games, a pool table and a nail bar, to name only a few, there is a range of activities to get involved in. Maybe even try something new!

Every Friday in term time the church is open for Frantic Fridays from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Children aged 8-11 can come and play games, get involved in fun activities and listen to some thought provoking stories. So far this year we have had a tower building competition with wooden blocks, acted out some drama sketches and made pizza. We have also learned what it means to work as a team, the true meaning of Christmas, and how God is always with us. Join us on Fridays for only 50p and learn something new!

Come and join us!

Charity work

Ravenscourt Baptist Church supports a number of charities working locally, nationally and internationally.

This is in line with our stated aim to be a source of good and love, and to help those in need both locally and around the world.

We’re a member of the Fundraising Standards Board which ensures that donors can give with confidence, knowing that any funds raised are used wisely.

Working with schools

Ask our church to work with your school. We have various ways of doing this.

Darren can come to your school to address a religious education or citizenship class. Darren & Ninoshka Gomes (our Children’s Worker) can come to you to present an assembly on a particular theme or regarding a particular Christian festival.

Also, your school can be involved with one of our literature projects. Each year, we have things like “The Shakespearience” (Shakespeare with professional actors) and our poetry workshops. Why not call Tsega and we can tailor something to your needs.

Chaplaincy for musicians

Chaplaincy services for musicians

Back in the 1990s, Darren decided to develop a unique side to his ministry. He offers a programme of spiritual chaplaincy to those in the music industry.

This is open to those with Christian beliefs but also to those who have taken a different direction or those who just don’t know where they stand. The consultancy is completely confidential and can involve prayer, advice, talk or just a listening ear.
